Educator as Artist

As an artist, I value play, experimentation, and the creative process. These values translate into my work as an art educator as I teach my students the importance of these values in the art room, and how they can be applied to other areas of life. I am primarily a printmaker and ceramicist, but am always learning and experimenting with new mediums and ideas. Most recently, I took a course called Sculptural Imagination where I learned basics of woodworking, welding, and foundry. As a lifelong learner, I am always looking for opportunities to expand my skills and enjoy taking workshops from other artist educators. These new skills and ideas translate into exciting lesson plans which have connections to contemporary art and artists.
